What do you get when you combine a love for science with creative arts?

Growing up, my mom would bake all of mine & my brother’s birthday cakes. When I was finally old enough to use an oven, she began to teach me all the steps she took into creating the “perfect” cake. Over the years, I’ve practiced countless times & have added to the lessons my mom taught me. The name of my business comes from the combination of my love for chemistry (I have a B.S. in biochemistry) + my love for baking. I acquired both of these passions from my mom because she was also a baking chemist before she passed away.

For my 24th birthday (January 2019), I wanted a number cake; but instead of purchasing one, I decided to create one for myself. After baking that cake, I had a few friends order cakes from me (which was helpful). Because all the orders I received allowed me to practice my decorating skills.

When Covid-19 forced all of us indoors, it gave me a lot of spare time. So in May 2020, I decided to finally create an IG account for my cakes & accept orders from the public. I had no idea how this business would do, especially during a pandemic, but I was amazingly surprised. The support I received was astounding!

With every order I have learned a lot about how to decorate & how to run a business. I feel so honored that so many of strangers have trusted me to create cakes for their celebrations & I can’t wait to see how the Chemistry of Baking continues to grow!
